MAY 12th FREE KMSU LISTENER APPRECIATION SHOW AT RED SKY LOUNGE

We can never thank you enough for all that you do for KMSU, especially during Pledge Drive time. KMSU would like to thank you in person and share a night of great music with all of you, and we have designated Saturday May 12th as the night to do that. We will be hosting a Listener Appreciation Show at The Red Sky Lounge in downtown Mankato on May 12th. The Festivities kick off around 8 p.m., and three amazing bands will take the stage all night. They are:

The Bombay Sweets

I first saw them play last fall during one of Dave from Free Form Freakouts shows at The What's Up. They are a blast to see live, and if you prefer your music a little surfy, rockabilly and pop, then you have got to see them play!! Cocktail Lounge drum set and vintage guitars are coming to Kato folks!! Have a look and fall in love -

PRISSY CLERKS

Shuffle Function listeners know of my love affair with the Twin Cities band The Red Pens. I initially contacted them for the Listener Appreciation Show only to find out that they are on hiatus for awhile. Howard from The Red Pens said "What about my new band Prissy Clerks?:. I listened to one song and replied immediately "HELL YES!" He describes them as kind of "The Breeders with an accordion", I just describe them as awesome.

We have been playing these guys on the show for years, and this will be my first time getting to see them live. The word on the street is that they put on a hell of a show, and that is exactly what you should expect from them on May 12th at The Red Sky Lounge. They are a little bit Americana, a little bit twangy but a whole lot straight up rock and roll. Have a listen for yourelf -
